different Ministries available to our Parishioners.
Below is a list of the St. Pius X Ministries and their description.

St. Pius X Ministries
Adoration: Perpetual: Visitation Chapel…Thursday before First
Friday: St. Pius X Church…
Altar Servers: Open to those who are promoted to the sixth
grade or are at least 12 years old through high school seniors.
Bereavement: reaches out to those who have experience the
death of a child…
Bible Study (Morning): Morning: on the 1st, 3rd and 4th
Tuesday of the month…Evening: Fall and Spring…
Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima: Prayer cell meets in
the church each Monday evening to pray the rosary, share intentions and
reflect on the apparitions of Fatima.
Catholic Life Communities (Adult): Provides inspirational as
well as educational enrichment and social exchange. These communities
meet in the homes of participants on a weekly basis for approximately one
and a half hours.
Come, Lord Jesus: includes Prayer, Scripture, shared Faith
Life and Christian Community.
Cursillo Movement: to help each of us fulfill our baptismal
responsibility: to go forth, as apostles…
Family Life: seeks to strengthen the family and deepen the
spiritual lives of our Parish families…
Homebound Ministry: sees that homebound receive the Eucharist;
informs Father Steve when homebound want to see a priest…
Hospital Ministers: take the Eucharist to those who are
hospitalized…
Hospitality Ministry: seeks to make newcomers feel welcome,
wanted and needed…
Knights of Columbus: Council #8901…3rd Degree Knights and 4th
Degree Knights…
Lector: Reads at Masses on Sundays, Holy Days of Obligation
and other special liturgies…
Making Rosaries: for distribution to prisons, nursing homes,
hospitals…
Mission Trip: to motivate parishioners to go on Mission-trips,
help the poor and become converted more deeply to the Lord…
Musical Groups: Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, Handbell Choir,
Funeral Choir and Youth Choir…
Needy: to help the poor at specific times of the year and at
other times when need arises…
Nursing Home Extraordinary Ministers: take the Eucharist to
those in nursing homes…
Nursing Home Visitation Ministry: to visit those in nursing homes…
Parenting with Christ: families with young children are taught
how to live a life of Christ and of service…
Pius Outreach: men, women, families, youth visit homes to
evangelize people in the area of St. Pius X Parish…
Outreach Visitation: follow-up visits to
Pius Outreach fulfilling the needs of people in our Parish boundaries..
Transportation: provide
transportation to Mass and parish activities
Homebound Visitation: to visit
individuals who are homebound
Pius Promise: assists single mothers making life changes to
better the future of their family…
Pius Senior Organization: (PSO) was formed 23 years ago to
reach out to the St. Pius Senior Citizens…meets once a month…
Power of Prayer: parishioners can call the parish office
to request intentions for daily prayer or post prayer requests to the
website.
Prison Ministry: hosts a retreat for prisoners at Angola
Penitentiary…
Pro-Life Ministry: to promote Pro-Life activities in the
parish…
Regnum Christi & Apostolates:
Catholic Kids Net Ministry: to form children in their faith by
reinforcing the spiritual and moral values of the Catholic Church…
Challenge Club: for girls ages 10 through 16…Older girls
mentor younger girls…
Conquest: network of leadership
clubs and camps for boys 5 to 15, teaches self-discipline, moral integrity,
improves community
Familia: a follow-up program to “Parenting with Christ”…
Rosary Groups: say the Rosary as a group in someone’s home on
a weekly basis…
Sodality of Mary Immaculate for Children: for children ages
7-12 years…
Speakers Bureau: brings in 3 or 4 dynamic, nationally-known
speakers to the Parish each year…
Stewardship: Parishioners
are encouraged to worship God through generous service of all kinds.
One of these service to the material needs of the Parish and the larger
Church community, by sharing generously of their wealth in the spirit of
worship to those in need.
St. Joseph Covenant Keepers: under the patronage of St.
Joseph…to help men become better husbands and fathers…
St. Pius X Angels: Prepare a
meal once a month for the workers of the Lafayette Community Health Care
Clinic. This clinic offers health and dental care for the uninsured
worker.
Ushers: serve at all weekend Masses and special occasions:
Holy Days of Obligation, First Communion and Confirmation…
Vocation Chalice: To receive and keep the chalice for a week,
during which time the family prays for vocations…
Welcome Ministry: greet parishioners before Mass and assist
them if needed…
Women’s Guild:is a service group for women of the parish…
Youth Ministries:
Des Amis: High School students, meet 2nd Sunday of the Month…
Jr. High Sunday: 7th & 8th graders, meet 3rd Sunday of the
Month…
