SUNDAY EVENING MUSIC CHANGES
The Youth Ministry Program made a request that the music group from the 7:00 p.m. Sunday Mass be moved to the 5:00 p.m. Mass time. The request was made so that the time of the Life Nights for our High School Life Teen program could also be changed from beginning at 5:00 p.m. to begin at 6:30 p.m. The teens would be encouraged to attend 5:00 p.m. Mass together and then come to the Life Night at 6:30 p.m. It was seen especially when the Confirmation Preparation Program was in session, that there wasn’t enough time between that Program and the beginning of the Life Night to give the teens who were in both programs to have a break. Also having a later time would give the Core Team more time to set up for Life Nights, especially when the Life Center is being used by other groups earlier on Sundays. The 7:00 p.m. Music Group was also willing to move to 5:00 p.m. The Liturgy and Worship Commission considered their proposal and recommended to the Parish Pastoral Council that this be implemented. The Pastoral Council supported the change and Fr. Steve gave his approval. Beginning Sunday, August 22 the kick-off for the Life Teen Sessions, this change will go into effect. The plan for Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. is to continue to have music with an accompanist and a cantor leading the singing as we do for our Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses.
